FIND OUT MORE ABOUT THE DIFFERENT
KNEE PATHOLOGIES
The knee is the hinge joint of the lower limb that operates with 6 degrees of freedom, combining stability and mobility.
The static stabilizers of the knee are the cruciate ligaments (anterior and posterior), and the collateral ligaments (medial and lateral).
The dynamic stabilizers of the knee are the muscles of the thigh and leg. The bone conformation also plays a role in stability.
The knee joint may be injured during sports accidents (soccer, ski, etc) or road accidents, or may suffer from degenerative wear and tear (arthritis).

MENISCUS
Degenerative tear
As menisci are the shock absorbers of the knee, they wear out over time and age, and sometimes end up tearing, without an accident. This type of tear occurs most often in patients over 50 years of age.
PATELLA
Dislocation and instability
During an accidental movement, the patella may dislocate, and sometimes remains unstable afterwards.
